The TrustScore is a comprehensive measure that evaluates the reputation and trustworthiness of a company. It is calculated based on five important components, with each component playing a significant role in determining the overall review score.
TrustScore calculation
These five components include:
- Review (40%): The reviews submitted by users play a significant role in determining the TrustScore. User feedback and ratings are considered to assess the company’s reputation and credibility.
- Traffic & Engagement (15%): The website’s traffic and user engagement over the past six months are taken into account. Higher levels of website activity indicate a stronger online presence and user interest.
- License (15%): The company’s licensing status is evaluated to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. A valid license adds to the trustworthiness of the company.
- ScamAdviser Score (10%): The ScamAdviser score is factored in as an additional measure of the company’s reliability and legitimacy. A higher ScamAdviser score indicates a lower risk of fraudulent activities.
- Verification (20%): The verification process assesses the company’s authenticity and verifies key details such as contact information and business credentials. Verified information adds credibility and trust to the company’s profile.
From TrustScore to star rating
Once the TrustScore is calculated, it is transformed into a star rating system ranging from 1 to 5 stars, with the inclusion of half stars. Following standard mathematical rounding rules, the star rating is adjusted to the nearest half or full star, ensuring accurate representation.

Where can I find the TrustScore?
A business’s TrustScore is located at the top of their business profile page on TrustFinance.
A higher TrustScore and star rating can result from asking for reviews.
By considering These five key components, the TrustScore provides users with a comprehensive assessment of a company’s reputation and trustworthiness. It serves as a valuable resource for individuals seeking reliable and trustworthy companies for their financial needs, helping them make informed decisions based on the overall review score and its underlying factors.
